This Privacy Policy explains how ShirtMap collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, web app, mobile app, map features, business owner tools, submission forms, subscription features, or related services.

By using ShirtMap, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect different types of information depending on how you use ShirtMap.

Business owner information

When a business owner signs up, submits a listing, manages a listing, or subscribes to premium features, we may collect:

• Owner or contact name
• Email address
• Business type or category
• Town, region, or location information
• Optional business phone number
• Optional street address or location details
• Website links
• Social media handles or profile links
• Shirt name, description, price, buying method, and related listing details
• Shirt images, including front and back images
• Subscription status and billing-related information

Visitor and customer information

When visitors browse ShirtMap or submit tips, we may collect:

• Shirt or business suggestions
• Town, region, or location details
• Optional contact information if submitted
• Interaction data, such as viewed listings, clicked links, filters used, and pages visited

Payment information

ShirtMap uses Stripe to process payments for business owner subscriptions, premium features, and related paid services.

When you make a payment to ShirtMap, your payment information is collected and processed by Stripe. ShirtMap does not store full credit card numbers or complete payment card details on its own servers.

Stripe may collect information such as your name, email address, billing details, payment method information, device information, IP address, transaction details, and other information needed to process payments, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and provide payment services.

Payments processed through Stripe are subject to Stripe's own terms, conditions, and privacy policy. You should review Stripe's Privacy Policy and Services Agreement presented during checkout or account setup.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Display approved public shirt listings on the map
• Review and approve business submissions and listing details
• Contact business owners about applications, listings, subscriptions, or account issues
• Provide subscription-based features
• Prevent spam, abuse, fraud, or misuse

4. Public Listing Information

Approved listings may be visible to the public on ShirtMap. Public listing information may include:

• Business name, town or region, and business type
• Shirt name, description, price, and images
• Buying method (in-store, direct message, website link, storefront link, or social media link)
• Website, storefront, or social media links
• General map location or pin location

Do not submit information you do not want displayed publicly once approved.

5. Business Applications and Pending Submissions

Business applications, pending listings, customer tips, and unapproved submissions are not intended to be publicly visible. ShirtMap may review these submissions internally before deciding whether to approve, reject, edit, remove, or request more information.

6. Links to Other Websites and Businesses

ShirtMap links to third-party websites, storefronts, social media pages, payment links, and business-owned pages. When you click a third-party link, you leave ShirtMap. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, products, pricing, fulfillment, refunds, security, or policies of third-party websites or businesses.

You should review the privacy policies and terms of any third-party site you visit.

7. Subscriptions and Premium Features

Business owners may pay for premium features, such as enhanced visibility, featured placement, upgraded map pins, or other promotional tools. Premium or paid listings may receive additional visibility compared with free listings. ShirtMap may label or otherwise identify premium placements where appropriate.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

ShirtMap uses a small number of cookies and similar device-storage technologies. We group them as follows.

Strictly necessary

These are required for core functionality and are only set after you sign in. They keep you logged in and secure your session. They are not used to track you and do not require your consent.

Interactive map (Mapbox)

Our map is powered by Mapbox. When the map loads, Mapbox stores a small amount of data on your device (in your browser's local storage) and may send anonymous usage data to Mapbox to operate and improve its mapping service. Because this is not strictly necessary to browse ShirtMap, we do not load the map until you accept. You can accept from the cookie banner or by enabling the map directly. Mapbox's handling of this data is also governed by Mapbox's own privacy policy.

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not store a persistent identifier on your device. See the Analytics section below.

Your choices

The first time you visit ShirtMap, we ask whether to enable non-essential technologies such as the interactive map. If you decline, the map stays off and the rest of ShirtMap works normally. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which prompts the question again. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

9. Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how visitors use ShirtMap in aggregate. This tool is privacy-friendly by design: it does not use cookies, does not store a persistent identifier on your device, and does not track you across other websites. The data it collects is anonymous and aggregated — for example, which pages are viewed, general device and browser type, approximate region, and referral sources. We use this information to improve the product and diagnose issues.

10. Data Sharing

We may share information with:

• Service providers that help us operate ShirtMap
• Stripe and other payment-related service providers
• Hosting, database, storage, analytics, email, and map providers (for example, Mapbox for our interactive map)
• Contractors or support providers working on ShirtMap
• Law enforcement, regulators, or legal parties when required by law
• Successors if ShirtMap is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale, or restructuring

We do not sell personal information.

11. Data Retention

We keep information as long as needed to operate ShirtMap, provide services, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, and maintain business records. Business owners may request deletion or updates to certain information by contacting us.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. However, no website, app, payment system, database, or online service is 100% secure. You use ShirtMap at your own risk.

13. Children's Privacy

ShirtMap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through our contact form and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14. Your Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access certain personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, opt out of certain communications, or ask questions about how information is used.
