Chester, CT Shirts
ShirtMap's hometown shirt page for Chester, Connecticut. Local businesses that sell their own shirts appear here as they join the map.
Chester sits folded into the hills of the lower Connecticut River valley, a village of white clapboard, crooked lanes, and a Main Street barely three blocks long. It grew up on water power, turning out augers and bits in little mills along Chester Creek, and when the mills went quiet the artists moved in. Today the storefronts hold studios, galleries, and workshops, and the village center still feels like a stage set that nobody remembered to strike. Just east of town, a ferry has been crossing the river toward the castle on the far bank since 1769, one small load of cars at a time. Our Chester design starts there: the little ferry mid-river, the hills stacked behind it, the village tucked into the fold. It is drawn for the people who know that the slow way across is the right way. Chester's own shops and makers belong on this page too, and as they join ShirtMap you will find them listed right below the shirt.
