Lake Placid, NY Shirts

Two winters put this small Adirondack village in front of the whole world, in 1932 and again in 1980, and the evidence is still everywhere you look. Twin ski jumps stand over the valley like exclamation points, visible for miles. A speed-skating oval sits right on Main Street, where kids lap under the lights on winter nights. But the village itself answers to an older rhythm. Main Street curves along Mirror Lake, not the lake the town is named for, which lies just beyond, and people swim its length on summer mornings, then walk across it in February. The High Peaks crowd the horizon in every direction, close enough that hikers head for the summits straight from the middle of town.
