Bourne, MA Shirts

ShirtMap's hometown shirt page for Bourne, Massachusetts. Local businesses that sell their own shirts appear here as they join the map.

Everyone else's Cape Cod begins at Bourne. The canal opened in 1914 and cut the peninsula loose from the mainland, and every arrival since has crossed Bourne's water to get anywhere at all. The two famous highway bridges take the cars. The strange and wonderful third bridge takes the trains: a vertical-lift railroad span at Buzzards Bay, twin steel towers holding a track bed that rises and lowers between them like a slow elevator. When it opened in 1935 it was the longest lift span in the world, and it still stops people mid-errand when the deck starts to move. Bourne life runs along the canal banks, biking the service roads, fishing the riprap, checking which way the current is running, since the canal reverses with the tide. Our Bourne design puts the railroad bridge at full height, a ship passing beneath, Buzzards Bay chopping away in the foreground: the Cape's front gate, drawn in steel. As Bourne businesses join ShirtMap, they take their places on this page.

The ShirtMap Bourne shirt is currently being designed. When it is ready, it will be sold right on this page.
